Ketamine is often seen as a low-risk drug, but it can cause serious damage to your bladder, kidneys, mental health and wellbeing
Partners across York and North Yorkshire are coming together during #KetamineAwarenessWeek to raise awareness, challenge myths and encourage people to seek help early. If you're worried about your own drug use, or worried about a friend or family member, support is available. One conversation could change a life
"I wasn't a special case. I was a normal lad from a normal family. If it can happen to me, it can happen to anyone." At 18, a York resident tried ketamine for the first time after leaving home for university. What felt like a harmless decision on a night out led to 10 years of addiction, homelessness, lost jobs, poor mental health and heartbreak for those closest to him. Today, at 28, he is sharing his story anonymously to help others avoid the same path and to show that recovery is possible.
